Cabinet Styles Available
Nova carries these three cabinet styles:
Suitcase (K & KX)
The profile of this cabinet with its suitcase-style carry handle makes it easy to travel with. The cabinet is a hard-shelled polycarbonate plastic which is weather-proof when closed. The analyzer opens up to allow access to the displays and controls. There are 2 different styles of these suitcase cabinets available. One has the display inside the cabinet. The other has the display mounted on the outside of the cabinet, to allow visibility of readings even when the case is closed.
Bench Top (BT)
For lab applications, the bench top cabinet is available. It is basically a rectangular box with a carry handle and displays on the end facing the user. These cabinets do not offer any weather protection. However, the larger internal volume often allows additional opportunities to integrate more sample conditioning components and features than the other cabinet styles.
Special Purpose Suitcase (K)
For some applications, a slightly larger suitcase style cabinet is available. The larger internal volume sometimes allows additional opportunities to integrate a few more features than our other standard suitcase style cabinet.
Applications for Portable Gas Analyzers
Cabinet-style portable gas analyzers can be used in many industry settings for easy gas analysis when and where it’s needed. Some common applications include:
- Flue Gas: Units can be used with boilers and furnaces to measure O2, CO2, and CO for optimal emission and combustion levels.
- Power Generators: For checking the atmosphere inside of H2-cooled electric power generators.
- Agriculture: Portable gas analyzers typically used for controlled atmosphere food storage applications.
- Landfill & Biogas: Monitoring of CO2, CH4, and O2 helps monitor the composition and quality of recovered landfill gas and biogas.

Sample Conditioning Options
Many Nova portable analyzers include some type of probe, some basic filtration, and some light-duty condensate collection capability. However, certain applications may require that samples be further conditioned prior to analysis for best results. Some of these include:
- Special engine exhaust gas probe to remove particulate and oil vapors.
- Ice bath pre-coolers for moist and high-heat gases.
